Alisha Pawar is a common name in the television industry. She was last seen in Teri Meri Ikk Jindri and hasn’t been seen on TV since last year. Although she wasn’t resting, she was busy working on short films and music videos.

Alisha is now returning to tinsel town and will soon be seen rehearsing the negative lead in Kumkum Bhagya after the six year skip. Speaking about the same to the Etimes, she says: “I played positive roles, but I feel that people connected more with my negative roles. I played Tara in Ishq Mein Marjawan and people have been offering me negative roles ever since. I will also play a negative role in Kumkum Bhagya. I am an obsessive lover who falls in love with the protagonist (Krishna Kaul) and creates problems in his life.”

Previously, Tina Phillip was the main negative lead in Kumkum Bhagya, but the creators are changing the narrative after the jump. Alisha says: “It is true that before the jump it was Tina who played a character hopelessly in love with the main protagonist and now it will be my character after the jump. But my character is 10 times more cruel than Tina’s and I’m happy to be working on a popular show like Kumkum Bhagya. The production company had previously approached me for Nagin, but I couldn’t do the show due to date issues.

Alisha doesn’t worry about being typecast in negative roles. She says, “It’s true that previous people used to fit in if you played similar roles, but not anymore. I also acted in Meri Gudiya where I played a positive role. In Ishq Main Marjawan I played both positive and negative so I don’t think I’ll be slotted in. It’s fun to play different roles and I’m enjoying this stage in showbiz.
